How do I convert the Webmail / WebAdmin into my language?

IMPORTANT

This article applies to versions 7 and prior. For current instructions with Kerio Connect client please refer to Translating Kerio Connect client to a new language

Kerio Connect 7.x

It is possible to make custom localization / translation of WebMail, WebAdmin and some reports in Kerio Connect server. Or it is possible to change English to dual-language if required.

Translations are saved in:

  • <install path>/translations/webmail
  • <install path>/web/admin/translations
  • <install path>/reports

If a default / existing language (e.g. English) is changed, do a backup of your custom files before any future server upgrade, since the upgrade may overwrite the default language files.

Kerio MailServer 6.x

Kerio MailServer 6.x series offers Webmail / Webadmin in many languages. Location of translation files may vary between versions. Locate the file according to your Kerio MailServer version:

  • Kerio MailServer 6.0.x, 6.1.x, 6.2.x
  • Webmail files are located in <install path>\webmail\translations
  • Webadmin localization is not supported in this version.
  • Kerio MailServer 6.3.x
  • Webmail files are located in <install path>\translations\webmail
  • Webadmin files are located in <install path>\translations\webadmin

Copy the en.def file to a new file (for example, fi.def for Finland) and use it as a template.

Localization file format

  • The file is in XML, so an XML-compatable editor may be desirable.
  • Your replacement text must be in UTF-8, as this is the only supported encoding in localization files.
